PlayStation 4 Launch Day Games and Confirmed Titles to FollowLater this year, the PlayStation 4 is going to show the Wii U how it’s done – by arriving alongside an armada of AAA titles on the console’s release date.

Rather than following Nintendo’s bizarre strategy of only just starting to introduce the most sought-after games a year after the Wii U’s launch, Sony will instead an all-guns-blazing approach with two confirmed waves of games – the first set to land on the same day as the PS4.

So for those looking to take home a launch day PS4, here’s the list of games already confirmed to be up for grabs:

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, DC Universe Online, DriveClub, FIFA 14, Just Dance 2014, Killzone Shadow Fall, Knack, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2K14, NBA Live 14, Skylanders: Swap Force, Warframe and Watch Dogs.

And the good news doesn’t end there, as a further flurry of hugely promising titles has also been confirmed for launch dates before the end of Q1 2014. Or in other words, proud PS4 owners will before April next year have the option to revel in:

Blacklight Retribution, Daylight, inFamous Second Son, Need for Speed: Rivals, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, The Crew, The Order: 1886, PlanetSide 2, The Witness, Transistor, Wolfenstein: The New Order and War Thunder.

We might never know what exactly motivated the folks over at Nintendo to deliberately hold back on the consoles best games, unless of course it was a simple desire to rush the launch of the device and ultimately seal its fate at the same time.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are expected to launch side by side this coming November – further details as they arise.
